Pamela Williams
Solicitor
Pamela Williams is a solicitor with over 30 years administration, management, business and legal experience. Pamela has studied a Bachelor of Laws graduating with Honours, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.
To achieve the award of Honours, Pamela researched and wrote her thesis on subject matter in which she holds a deep conviction – International Human Rights – examining how Australia’s anti-discrimination laws fit in to the global framework.
With a 16 year International Banking career working in every corner of the globe, Pamela‘s business travels have taken her across the width and breadth of Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, the Americas and the sub-continent giving her the privilege of up close insight into many varied cultures and experiences of life long value.
As an immigration lawyer drawing on her past experience in finance, Pamela has become apt and familiar with the stringent financial reporting required when applying for Business Innovation and Investor visas.
Holding an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Relations provides Pamela with enhanced skills related to the processing of Labour Market Agreements as well as Business Sponsorships and Employee Nominations.
Pamela’s administration, management and organizational skills combined with her legal expertise, ensures that no stone is left unturned when assisting clients through the maze that is Australian Immigration Law regardless the size or complexity of the matter.
Malcolm Barrett
Solicitor
Malcolm Barrett, is a solicitor with over thirty years of legal, academic and administration experience. Malcolm completed a Bachelor of Arts graduating with Honours and a Bachelor of Laws graduating with Honours at the University of Tasmania, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law Sydney. A decade later Malcolm completed his Masters of Law (International Law) at the University of New South Wales.
Malcolm gained administrative and research experience working at the Tasmanian Parliament, researching and preparing reports for the Public Works and Public Accounts Committees. He moved to academia and for thirty years he taught and conducted research at the University of Western Sydney, JCU and CQU. His main focus was in the area of criminal law, human rights law, international law and statutory interpretation. His publications include two books: Fairall P and Barrett M Criminal Defences In Australia LexisNexis and Douglas H, Higgins E and Barrett M Criminal Process In Queensland Thomson Reuters.
Malcolm’s interest in immigration law was first ignited as a young law graduate when he volunteered at the Sydney Immigration Rights and Advice Service. It continued as an academic with his human rights and international law subjects having a focus on the plight of refugees and on Australia’s extradition laws. His extensive statutory interpretation experience serves him well in navigating the legislative complexities of Australia’s immigration laws.
